A zone alarm systems allows users to divide the house into zones that can be toggled independently. Usually a zone alarm system has two zones, one external, which consists of all door and window sensors and one internal, consisting of all room sensor / PIR sensors.

The shift between the outer zone and the inner zone is done by a click on the remote control.
